We are seeking a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST in Antigo,WI at Aspirus Langlade Hospital who, ollaborateswith all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of apatient through surgery. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, the SurgicalTechnologist is an integral part of the surgical team working closely with allother members of the team in the delivery of patient care, pre-operative,intra-operative, and post-operatively. The surgical technologist is responsiblefor planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgicalprocedures and demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique. The surgicaltechnologist also promotes education of self, peers, and students. In thesurgical environment, the surgical technologist role is to provide care forpatients over the continuum of the life span.
- Good knowledge and application of aseptictechnique, surgical principles, procedures, and instrumentation. Demonstratesunderstanding of medical terminology, anatomy and microbiology. Ability toorganize work, maintain good interpersonal relationships, function understress, and work as part of a surgical team. Must be able to demonstrate theknowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span andthe ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret theappropriate information needed to identify the needs of neonatal, pediatric,adolescent, and geriatric patients. This knowledge and skills may be acquiredthrough education, training, or experience.
- One year surgical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical standards and practicesacquired through graduation of a Surgical Technologist program required.
- Certification is encouraged but not required.Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
Hours: .6 Part-time varied shifts - 8 hours shifts, working every 5th weekend, rotating holidays, 1 weeknight call shift per week
