We are seeking a SPECIMEN PROCESSING TECHNICIAN II in Wausau, Wisconsin at Aspirus Wausau Hospital who is primarily responsibility of the Specimen Processing Technician II is to rapidly respond to telephone inquiries from clients, provide rapid telephone reports, accurately order tests, process biological specimens submitted for laboratory testing and ensure client satisfaction. The Specimen Processing Technician II also is required to perform phlebotomy and EKG's regularly.
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of a phlebotomy program or related health care training (MA, CNA, EMT, etc.) beneficial.
- Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through completion of a degree or courses in chemical, physical, or biological sciences from an accredited institution beneficial
- Health care related experience, or other non-healthcare laboratory experience beneficial
- Computer experience beneficial
- Customer service/telephone communications experience beneficial
Hours: Full time Benefit package available, 32 Hours per week, varied for this position; PM/Overnight shifts and possible start times could be: 3pm - 11:30pm or 10pm - 6am, every 3rd weekend (overnight) and 2 holidays per year.
