GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of Business Unit President, the Administrator shall be responsible for the profitability, planning and overall administration of all aspects of respective area of responsibility. The Administrator is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the organization, including but not limited to, compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations, financial stability of the organization, maximizing use of corporate assets, strategic planning for growth or other structural changes if appropriate, and all personnel related issues.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Experience

  • Identifies opportunities to improve patient experience. Participates in projects/programs designed to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.

Patient/Staff/Environmental Safety

  • Identifies opportunities to improve the Environment of Care, and patient and staff safety. Participates in projects and programs designed to create a safe environment to avoid error.

Job Specific Duties

  • Manages direct reports. Determines the number and level of personnel needed to ensure adequate care to meet the needs of residents.
  • Prepares an annual operating and fixed asset budget for each operating area within respective organization for review and adoption by the BU.
  • Meets or exceeds standards of care and compliance for all Federal and State regulatory bodies. Prepares and submits reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Provides for effective short and long range planning to ensure fiscal stability and growth potential.
  • Maximizes all reimbursement avenues for respective organization.
  • Authorizes purchases of equipment and supplies as needed within the budget requirements of the organization.
  • Is responsible for risk management for the organization.
  • Establishes relationships with Aspirus representatives, staff members and corporate representatives to maintain open communication and maximize organizational effectiveness.
  • In conjunction with quality improvement, develops and implements organization wide quality, satisfaction and financial measurements.
  • Maintains corporate compliance with applicable federal, state and local agency rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the areas of quality and safe delivery of nursing home care services, reimbursement, claims submission, wage and hour regulations, waste handling, etc.
  • Is responsible for effective marketing of programs.
  • Develops organizational structures and management systems to ensure smooth operation of all business functions.
  • Implements strategic direction for Tivoli in collaboration with the BU President.
  • Establishes relationships with Aspirus representatives, staff members and corporate representatives to maintain open communication and maximize organizational effectiveness.
  • In conjunction with quality improvement, develops and implements organization wide quality, satisfaction and financial measurements.
  • Develops rapport with area hospitals, individual physicians and physician groups in order to facilitate networking activities.
  • Participates in personal professional growth and development.
  • Selects, develops, organizes and motivates administrative staff and managers; relates and works effectively with individuals.
  • Keeps apprised of external regulations and conditions as well as internal conditions that affect the organization and creates an environment that produces realistic and effective solutions for those conditions.
  • Analyzes ongoing operations to ensure effectiveness of respective operations. Initiates and implements change within the limits of authority.
  • Attends in-services and management development programs to maintain Administrator license in good standing.
  • Works extended hours to attend meetings and meet project deadlines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the BU President.

Department Specific Accountabilities

  • Maintains department specific accountabilities as determined, maintained, and housed within each units Scope of Service.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education

  • Knowledge of healthcare administration normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in a health or business discipline from an accredited program. A Masters Degree in business or health administration beneficial.

Required

  • Current Wisconsin Nursing Home Administration licensure

Experience

  • A minimum of three years of experience in health care management with an emphasis on nursing home management necessary to enhance and develop skills, with previous nursing home care agency administration experience beneficial.

Annual Competencies

  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
