We are seeking a MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST / MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN in Stevens Point, Wisconsin at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital with Core lab duties that will  perform laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require the broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Demonstrates the ability to maintain equipment and records, and to perform quality assurance activities related to test performance. Functions as an educator, shift leader or researcher within the clinical laboratory as needed. All individuals in this job classification meet the qualifications necessary to perform highly complex testing as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment of 1988.

MT, MLT or MLS will be considered for this role.


  • Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or associates degree in medical lab technician
  • Previous applicable experience beneficial
  • Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP) or CLS-NCA certification, or attains within 6 months of hire
Hours: Occasional status, rotating PM/Nights shifts

It is a licensed private/not-for-profit facility with 325 beds and staffed by 350 physicians in 35 specialties.  Aspirus Wausau Hospital is a Level II trauma center that provides primary, secondary and tertiary care services as a regional referral center. Specialty referral service emphasis exists in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, orthopedics and cancer. The hospital has an average daily inpatient census of 160 with approximately 15,000 admissions per year. Outpatient visits exceed 50,000 and there are also more than 24,000 annual emergency department visits.
