We are seeking a Medical Assistant in Ironwood, Michigan for our Cardiology Outreach & Telemedicine department at Aspirus Ironwood Clinic. Duties include:
* Assists in the delivery of primary health care of patients including maintenance of clinical record/documentation.
* Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for medical staff.
* Makes decisions consistent with clinic policies.
* Observes strict confidentiality of patient information.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet one of the following requirements:
o Completion of CMA program
o CMA or RMA Certification
o EMT Licensure
o Paramedic Licensure
o LPN Licensure
* Medical Terminology
Hours: This position is full time, 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period. Day shift, no weekends or holidays. Full time benefits package available.
Aspirus Ironwood includes a 25 bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ranked among the top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the nation by the National Rural Health Association, Grand View's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
Ironwood, Michigan is located on the far western end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Gogebic County. Ironwood is approximately 15 miles from the shores of Lake Superior. The population of Gogebic County is approximately 17,000.
While the community is rural, Ironwood has a local airport that keeps us connected to other major airports. Near by cities include: Duluth, MN 110 miles east, Minneapolis, MN 240 miles southwest, Wausau, WI 120 miles south, and Madison, WI 250 miles south.
Enjoy numerous festivities held throughout the year, various entertainments at the downtown historical theatre, and the Copper Peak snowmobile hill climb. Hiking can be enjoyed at any of the numerous parks, including the Black River National Forest byway/waterfalls or the Apostle Island National Park. The area offers an abundance of fishing, hunting, camping, biking, alpine and Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, canoeing/kayaking, and golfing. The area has 4 local public school systems and several parochial schools where the students benefit from a low student/teacher ratio. Gogebic County is also home to the Gogebic Community College. Two community theaters as well as a large civic arena provide opportunities for enjoyment. The local area offers a wonderful small town lifestyle with many four season recreational activities.
